This morning started off way too early and while it seemed to be a nice relaxing start to the day...that quickly changed. My mom came to help us with some yard work in exchange for using our laundry facilities [the washing machine and dryer in the garage :)] After we got a good chuck of the front yard down we stopped for some lunch.
I have been working on some craft projects lately in hopes of starting my online etsy.com store. I recently got some new supplies and couldn't wait to show my mom. She is as big a fan of paper and pens as I am...actually I probably got it from her. Anyways so she was getting ready to leave and Craig asked if I was going with her. I jokingly asked if he was kicking me out for the afternoon...he only smiled. So a little bit later, after gathering up my new treasures, I headed out to my mom's. We both spent the first little bit trying to organize ourselves...we tend to bring out lots of stuff to work with and gratefully my mom lets me leave it there and out. After a quick rescue trip to help the over heating Cadillac, I went back to my mom's for an ice cream treat and some more scrapping fun. I was able to get about half of a Pretty in Pink mini memories album done.
My store for those interested is: http://www.etsy.com/shop/fromsimpletosatin
Not much up right now but hoping to have somethings list by the end of next week.
Craig spent the afternoon home relaxing, watching tv, and playing on the internet...ahh the good life :)

Our Weekend
This weekend...Friday night we gathered some cousins together for a night of fun, ice cream, and conversation. The Chord clan were in town so those that could meet at Leatherby's. The ice cream was yummy, the conversation fun, and atmosphere was crazy and lady.
Hope everyone is having a safe and good holiday.
Saturday: Craig and I attended a baptism for a couple of brothers in our ward. After that we grabbed Taco Bell on our way out to Wilton. We visited with family at my grandparents for a couple hours. On the way home we picked up Chelsea and her kids from the park by our house and took them home with us. We had a fun visit, watched a couple Disney movies, and had chicken alfredo for dinner. Craig and I splurged for a late night munchie fest, I picked up McD's sundaes on my way back from dropping off Chelsea and her kids. After I got home Craig wanted nachos...so off to Taco Bell I went again and I wanted a burger so another drive thru line at Carl's Jr. Once I was back we dined and watched TV.
Sunday: After church we headed to San Leandro for the rest of the holiday weekend. My dad and Jean met us at Craig's parents to visit. My dad now travels for several weeks at a time so we only get to see him every 6-9 weeks. He happened to be working in Redwood City so Jean drove down for the weekend. We had a nice visit and they even stayed for dinner.
Jeanne, Craig's mom, made one of our favorites, Chicken Cream Cheese Balls. So yummy :) The Jones' also joined us for dinner. Bro and Sis Jones are special to Craig and I as they assisted us during our wedding morning.
Monday: So today we are relaxing by watching movies and shortly the games will begin. Melanie and Paul just got here. We are having Ribs :) which is always messy and yummy. Tonight we will be headed home to return to life, work, and school.
Hope everyone is having a safe and good holiday.

Recent happenings...
So I am going to try and do better at keeping our blog updated :)
We had a nice anniversary weekend relaxing in Pleasant Hill, Ca before visiting his parents in San Leandro on our way home. While I was sick the whole time we made the best of it watching the NFL Draft, going out to dinner, and eating our anniversary cake. My mom made us a small cake that resembled one of the tiers of our wedding cake. Overall it was just nice to get away from the everyday grind.
Craig is still attending classes each day working towards his Microsoft Office Certification. I am planning on returning to school either this summer or fall, depending on class availability. In the mean time still working in the Call Center and looking for other opportunities to advance. I recently applied for a position in Marketing with the credit union where I work, although I didn't get selected. Still optimistic and keeping my eyes and ears open.
Craig and I have both recently been dealing with the nasty cold that's going around. Needless to say it has limited our goings on. We did spontaneously decide to drive to the bay yesterday to see his family. We got a chance to see his brother and family who were visiting from Malibu. It was only for a minute but we appreciated Jim and Vanessa making the detour for us.
Today we will be attending church with the family before trying to meet up with my dad who is working in Redwood City for the week. My dad is traveling now for work and we usually only see him every 6-9 weeks when he is home for his week.
Well that should do it for now...stay tuned for the next installment.

August in a Nutshell

So the month of August wasn't too exciting or out of the ordinary but we did keep busy. I drove down to see Craig a couple of the weekends and he came up to see me. Ok so maybe it was a little more exciting than that.
15th-17th : We attempted to attend the Temple and the Bonfire but I tripped and fell while walking up to the Temple. Craig went ahead and did some work while I tried to clean up and attend to my knee and hand. After that we headed over to the Visitors Center to see the Statues...what an amazing display. The artist Angela Johnson, who is actually a opera singer by trade, sculpted various scenes from the life of Christ as well as other church history. They were awesome and if you have a chance to see them before the New Year I would highly advise it.
22nd- 24th : Surprise...Suzanne calls Craig and asks him to be ready in a few hours to come for the weekend. My grandparents (from my dad's side) came into town for my cousin's ordination. Also we were moving my mom that weekend. So gratefully Craig agreed and I drove straight from work to his house to pick him up. Ok so its not around the corner but when your dad says go get your boyfriend you comply. I think it was a good weekend...at the very least tiring. Craig was a great help while we were moving and a good sport to let me drag him around everywhere. My dad's family got to meet him as well.
29th-Sept 1st: This holiday week was totally planned for Craig to come for a visit. My brother and his family were coming from Washington and I wanted them to meet Craig. Plus it was a fair trade, I spent the 4th of July in San Leandro. We had fun hanging out with my family playing games, talking, laughing, and joking. We took family photos on Sunday at the park. Guess what...we left Craig in all of them. So we were being teased that it better become a permanent thing since the photos were already taken.
Only time would tell...
