July 18th-20th - Sacramento Railroad Museum and Meeting the Emerson's

Craig took the train to Sacramento for a visit with Suzanne. After breakfast with her Dad and Jean we headed to Downtown Sacramento to visit the Railroad museum. What an experience!!! Neither of us had ever been there before. We wondered around looking at replicas of trains, buildings, people, shipments, dining cars, etc.

We learned a lot of cool information. We started out with a tour group but gave up soon on that and wandered on our own. We spent a great amount of time taking photos and reading the facts at each train describing the era and functions of that specific vessel. We also got to walk through a mail train and see the cubbies and mail bags.

After our downtown wandering and some lunch at the Chill Grill (it's just ok) we went over to Cat and Sam's. Craig got to meet my friends the Emerson's. We joined them for dinner with the missionaries. We shared some Straw Hat pizza and teased the Elders until it was time to go.

After our return to my house we crashed on the couch with a movie for the evening.

Sunday I returned Craig home to his family. We arrived in time to share family dinner. This time though we were celebrating Vanessa's birthday (a little belated). The main course was deep fried shrimp...guess what??? I tried it and actually liked it. We had to say farewell to Isaac and Vanessa as they were heading home to Utah in the next day or so and this was the last time I was going to see them for a while. Isaac went around the room for the usual good bye kisses. What a cutie.
